Website Monitoring Plan

Last Updated: 10 July 2026

This Website Monitoring Plan describes the ongoing activities carried out to ensure the Sardar Patel Zoological Park website remains functional, secure, accessible, and compliant at all times.

Monitoring Objectives

  • Ensure continuous availability and uptime of the website.
  • Detect and resolve broken links, errors, and performance issues promptly.
  • Verify ongoing compliance with GIGW 3.0 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
  • Monitor for security threats and unauthorised access attempts.
  • Track user traffic and behaviour to improve usability.

Uptime Monitoring

The website is monitored for availability on a continuous basis. Any downtime exceeding 15 minutes triggers an immediate alert to the Web Information Manager and the technical team. A target uptime of 99.5% is maintained.

Link Checking

Automated link checks are run before each content release and monthly thereafter to identify and resolve broken or redirected links. Results are reviewed by the Web Information Manager.

Performance Monitoring

Page load times, Core Web Vitals (LCP, FID, CLS), and mobile responsiveness are assessed quarterly using standard tools. Performance regressions are addressed within 5 working days.

Security Monitoring

Server logs are reviewed periodically for unusual traffic patterns, failed login attempts, and other indicators of compromise. Findings are escalated to the IT security team. See also: Security Policy.

Accessibility Audits

An automated WCAG 2.1 Level AA audit is conducted with each release. A full manual accessibility review is performed annually.

Reporting

The WIM compiles a monthly monitoring summary covering uptime, broken links, performance, and security incidents. This report is shared with the departmental head.
